Alaskan lights Source:  Wikimedia Once upon a time there were seven brothers who all lived in Alaska with their mom. All the brothers loved to play a game called hopscotch. The boys loved this game so much that they would often miss or be very late to dinner because they would be playing it for so long. The boys missing dinner so much really aggravated the mother because food would go cold and sometime wasted. So one day for dinner the mom was making rice and beans and put some mud inside the dish which is what the kids used to created their hopscotch board. So when the kids came to eat that day and ate the food they immediately spit it out and ask the mother what was in it. the mother told them she put mud in it because they love playing hopscotch so much and missing dinner, so they can have hopscotch for dinner. This stunt the mom pulled angered the brothers so they all ran outside and started to do the feather dance and ask the spirits to be taken away to a new place so s...

Stars Source:  Un-Textbook For part B of the notes of "Myths of Cherokee" I will be focusing on the story "Origin of the Pleiades and the Pine." In this story there are seven kids who like to play a game called gatayusti and play it instead of going to dinner. The kids not coming to dinner to play the game really upset the mother. So one day the mother decided to put a gatayusti rocks which are used in the game in the corn she cooked for dinner. When the boys finally came back for dinner they saw the rocks in the corn and asked the mother what it was. She told the boys that if they want to play games instead of come to dinner then they can eat the game stones for dinner. This angered the boys so they decided to leave to where they wouldn't be treated this way anymore. So the boys went outside to the townhouse and start a feather dance asking the spirits to help them. When doing this the mother sensed something was wrong and went outside to find them. When t...

Reading Notes: Myths of the Cherokee, Part A

Fire Source:  Wikipedia For this weeks unit I am reading Myths of the Cherokee and focusing on the story "The First Fire." In this story it talks about the first time fire was created in the world. It was first created from a strike of thunder hitting a hollow sycamore tree. All the animals in the forest could see the fire from afar because of the smoke building up in the air. The animals wanted a fire of their own so they tried to decided on a plan to grab the fire and bring it over to their side of the land. At first the idea was to have the birds fly over and bring it back, but it did not work out as planned. The first bird to fly over was a raven and when he flew over to the fire all his feathers got scorched black so he had to fly back. Up next a screeching owl tried but when he went to the fire the heat burned out his eves causing his eyes to be red. After a hooting and horned owl went together but the fire had ground so much that the smoke was blinding them before ...

Tech Tip: Browser Bookmarks

Image
A book with a bookmark Source: Pixnio For this weeks tech tip I decided to talk about Browser Bookmarks. Browser bookmarks is an extremely useful tool if you visit the same site often. To make a bookmark, all you have to do is click the store in the URL bar and save it with a name. I usually bookmark sites such as canvas, which is use everyday for school, and also my email because I check it often. Browser bookmarks has saved me so much time in school because I can just simply click to these sites instantly. One little tip I would recommend is to have bookmarks to each class page that way you can pull them up at any point in time.

This story is now in my  Portfolio Tiger Source:  Maxpixel Deep down in the jungle of the north there is a village in which a society of a couple hundred people live. In this village there is a woman by the name of Alexis who has lived at the village for over 50 years and the village honors her as if she was there queen. One day a younger member of the community within the village went up to the woman and asked, "Hello Alexis, I hope you don't mind but I was wondering why the village honors you so much, what is your backstory?" The woman then told the community member to sit down because the story may take awhile. It was 50 years ago and I was just over the age of 18 and I was having some sort of senses that were drawing my into the jungle. These sense became stronger and stronger as time went on and eventually I could not withstand them anymore and decided to leave the village. Now leaving the village may seem scary with wild beast roaming the jungle especially at...
