For this weeks story lab I chose to go to the
Writers Write website and look at article that intrigued me. One article that caught my eye was "Cheat Sheets for Writing Body Language." This caught my interest because I believe being able to write the body language of a character in a way that the reader feels the emotions going on it important. A story that has well written body language will really bring the reader into the story and add such great detail to the story. In this article it give five tips on why writing body language is useful. Tip one is to use body language to add more depth to the dialogue of the characters in the story. Tip two is that body language is useful to use because more than half of all human communication is no actually verbal. The third tip is that body language will help show how the emotions of the characters will affect the actions of that character. Tip four is to use body language will allow the reader to understand stuff without having to tell the entire story. The last tip says that even though body language is great, it should be used moderately because it can cause a story to become slow. Besides these tips, a list of a bunch of emotions is shown and statements for each emotion is given that helps to explain body language for that emotion.
